Having an IQ of 276 and reading the Bible 1,000 times are mutually exclusive. Maybe they should retest him… they probably got a couple digits wrong the first time.
It’s an understatement to say that the entirety of Western Civilization is heavily influenced by the the Old & New Testaments. You don’t need to read the entire Bible, but every educated person should have read at least some, and be highly familiar with the basics. To not do so is wilful ignorance of your own culture. Even if you are not a believer it’s an inextricable part of your cultural and philosophical DNA, just as even the most diehard atheist Maoist Chinese still behaves like a Confucian Buddhist in their daily life.
I didn’t say anyone should, l am just not impressed by or even interested in these people. If you are Kung-Fu master and use your talent to commit crimes, same thing, not impressed.
So if the modern world is dependent on Locke’s ideas, and Locke was dependent on the Old Testament, then the modern world is dependent on the Old Testament.
I initially thought you were referring to that Dwayne Johnson Fast and Furious film but that’s Hobbs and Shaw.
Rather disappointingly, I think that also works in your sentence. I know people who do think getting up at 4am and going to the gym and wearing only tight black t-shirts makes them successful, despite their tragic incompetence.
A person can only comprehend a level of cognitive complexity they possess themselves, or less. So @DrewC’s conclusion is based upon the upper limits of his cognitive abilities.
I’m not trying to put you down. It’s a well known and observed human trait that the vast majority of people are only capable of comprehending a level of cognitive complexity they possess, or less. But not higher.
It explains why so many in this thread seem to want to rubbish those who claim to have an extremely high IQ.
Of course you’re trying to put me down. I said something you didn’t like so you’re denigrating me rather than just focusing on what I said. You may think you’re clever, but you’re not IQ 270 clever. Maybe if you read the Bible another thousand times…
