almas john and sandman - thanks for the encouragement. In the past, I’ve lurked more than posted, but the concept going forward is I’ll put my quick summaries here and the delicious details & pictures on the blog.
I agree I like your blog and review style.
Off topic, but following your blog, there are now one or two excellent places to get Thai massage around Taipei. I regularly go but the cost is about 1300 for two hours.
wow! i think that’s a great shot!! especially with the lighting in there. what kind of camera do you use?
btw- i really enjoyed the food at Yuma’s too… especially the soup and nachos… I posted pics on my blog review
It’s a Canon EOS 40D
A friend of mine and I will be checking it out for lunch on Tuesday.
Hi All,
Thank you for your custom and your positive comments. As with any new restaurant, we are still ironing out a few kinks.
For one, as evident in CraigTPE’s case above, we are working on making our making our concept of family-style or sharing dining more evident on our menu. We are hard at work at this.
The music is a priority, We’ll have to remaster our playlist so that they all play at the same volume.
We are also introducing a mouth-watering lunch menu Friday December 26, which will include Burritos, Quesadilla, and Nachos, all at the NT$150 price point. These items will be available from 12-5PM, EVERYDAY.
A special thanks to Hungry Girl for her kind review.
All the best,
Alan
Can I be one of your secretaries? Then I could go for free too!

That’s what you’re going for? Western cuisine with family-style dining? Actually, one reason I go to a Western-style restaurant is to NOT share, except for maybe the appetizers. ![]()
Yuma,
Congrats on the new venture; I’ll be sure to check it out the next time I’m in town.
I’ve recommended it to the guy who is organizing the next meeting of the photo club. He’ll do all the bookings etc, but I’m hopeful that it can be used as our regular monthly meeting spot.
Alan, have you got wifly or some other wireless setup available? I need a place to park myself in that area for a few hours from time to time, and I’m damned tired of coffee shops.
If you’ll have riffraff like meself, that is.

Even if you’re as unfamiliar with Mexican food as I am, I’m sure you’ll find plenty on the menu to satisfy you. My wife and I have been to three different Mexican restaurants in Taipei apart from Yuma, and this is definitely the best by a very wide margin.[/quote]
It’s Southwestern not Mexican.
But nice review.

Well there you go, I wouldn’t know the difference. Someone says ‘nachos’, I think ‘Mexican’. Tortillas? ‘Mexican’. Tequilas? ‘Mexican’. That’s the only connection wired into my brain.
Or did you mean the restaurant is south western, meaning it includes some food which is Mexican? I’ve never been to the south west, so I don’t know what the eat down there.
Welcome. ![]()
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the very positive feedback. We are working on improving the few things that are not to your and our satisfaction. Overall though as seen from the comments above and other third-party reviews, our customers are very happy with the quality, quantity and value that
Yuma SouthWestern Grill
delivers.
Our new lunch menu, an array of mouth-watering SouthWestern favourites at exceptional value, will be available from January 23.
We’ll be open during CNY.
Don’t forget our Half-Price Happy Hour (all beer and wine)–available EVERYDAY 12-6PM.
Happy Holidays,
Alan
Hi Wacow
Sorry for the delayed reply. I have since tasted the sauces in question. Yes, the Peri-Peri is a little sour but the Cranberry is a sweet sauce. On the day in question it had been reduced too much. We’ve adjusted it accordingly. Thanks for the input and for the custom.
Happy New Year,
Alan

Hi Stu and SRS
Thanks for the wonderful comments.
Don’t forget everyone that we have our 3-month Anniversary special running until the end of Feb.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the positive feedback. We really appreciate your support.
We’ve launched a new lunch menu. We’ve added some more tex-mex, dishes from our grill, with 6 vegetarian offerings, all at NT$150. Add a soup or a soft drink for only NT$30 or both for NT$50.
