Great, thanks. I’ll more than likely be in a lot more often, even if it’s just for a coffee and a snack.
Went to Yuma for the first time Sunday for a photo meet.
Went to Yuma for the second time the next day with the wife.

Good, good eats. Excellent service. My god, competent, friendly servers. Unbelievable. :bravo:
Same experience here. We went back for the second time and there was a huge party downstairs. I figured the service would be slower because of it. But the service was still great and all the food arrived promptly.

Can’t wait to go back.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks again for all the wonderful comments and of course your custom. It’s greatly appreciated.

Yuma has a spacious outdoor area with picnic table seating, ideal for the spring weather.

We’re serving wine, bottled beer, and our pitchers (Margalita, House Draft, Sangria) at HALF PRICE, EVERYDAY, 12-6PM.

Thanks,

Alan

Way to go and jinx the place.

Hardly a jinx; Fred Smith is out lucky leprechaun.

Thanks for the kind words MT. Glad you had a good time.

He’s out? 'Bout time!

A Freudian slip if there ever was one.

Sorry Fred.

Curious: Has the owner(s) of Yuma SouthWestern Grill ever been to/lived in Yuma, Arizona, USA?

I used to live there and the native fare wasn’t great. The best restuarant in that town is an Indian buffet that has divine palak paneer.

:cactus:

And some ventures into salsa? And no, I’m not going Californian on you.

Better yet some spicy salsa’s with fruit like mango.

Or pineapple.

Once you get these down now you can have grilled fish (tuna, salmon, cod) that everyone will want to eat at any time and they go well with all grilled meat and vegetables.

:idunno: Obviously only my thoughts. You guys are the bosses.

Erm, I don’t believe they serve either of those at Yuma.

Whoops, my mistake! I guess I was referring to their wonderful wraps. Anyway, good food whatever you want to call it.
I have to report my not so pleasant experience at Yuma last night.

It was one of my friends birthday so we had a big group. But we divided the bill and the ordering into sections to make it easier. My experience is based on our section of 7 people.

First off, it was getting pretty hot inside last night. So I kindly asked the waitress if something could be done like turning up A/C which was right next to us. Basically she just kept saying that the A/C was already on and gave me the run around. Problem didn’t get solved. Ok fine, not a big deal.

The real problem was with the speed of the food. So we all ordered our meals and a Nevada nachos. We were all VERY hungry so we wanted the nachos bad. I kindly asked that the nachos come out first. Well that didn’t happen.

Two order’s of chicken quesadilla came out relatively quickly. But then nothing came out after that. Me and my friend were pretty much done with our quesadilla’s and all the orders still hadn’t come out yet. There was still an order of pasta and two orders of steak quesdilla’s. Also the nachos were no where in sight. I had kept inquiring about the nachos and nothing was done. The lady just kept saying okokok, no apologizes or anything. So about an hour since ordering, only those two plates and one more 3 cheese quesdilla had come out, still no nachos or the other orders. Here’s the funny part, then the lady comes over and says that they ran out of beef! And asked my two friends who ordered the steak quesdilla if they wanted to order something else. Keep in mind, this is about an hour after we first ordered. I mean how are you going to come and tell us that they ran out of food AFTER one hour? I can understand a restaurant running out of food, that happens. But to run out and then not tell us for a whole hour after ordering? That’s not right. My friends were just like forget it. They ended up just sharing the order of 3 cheese quesdilla.

When the lady came over, I inquired about the nachos for about the 7th time(no exaggeration). This was getting pretty ridiculous, we were all done with our meals and our APPETIZER nachos still hadn’t arrived. I asked the lady shouldn’t the nachos come BEFORE the entrees? Then she starts arguing with me saying that our chicken quesdilla that had arrived first were actually for the other section. I’m thinking to myself, well who’s fault is that? She actually started arguing with me and giving me lip. How can a waitress start arguing with a customer when we’re done with our meal but the nachos havn’t even arrived yet? That’s just terrible customer service.

After a couple of minutes, she comes back and asks in a rather rude tone ‘Do you guys still want your nachos or what’? Well faced with this tone and also this question probably means that they havn’t even started making the nachos, we said no forget it. Besides we were all done and full anyways. But guess what, after a few minutes, the nachos came out! The waitress, knowing that we had just canceled it, didn’t even ask if we wanted it, she just came and put it down without a word. Wow, we were all just speechless. It doesn’t arrive when its suppose to, then after we cancel it, it finally arrives. I mean we could of sent it back and said no, but we were just so frustrated and let down, we were just like forget it.

So overall a terrible dining experience. They didn’t compensate us in anyway. On top of it, they still charged us the service fee. This is harsh, but I would say that I get better service at Taco Bell. Thumbs down for Yuma Grill.
Hi Tony,

Besides that we gear our menu to the local principle of sharing meals (dishes are delivered to your table as they are ready) and with mostly local clientele and a large foreign following who enjoying sharing, we seldom serve meals on an individual basis to larger tables.

We did have a service problem after 3 of our best people all left within the same month. It has been difficult replacing them. Your mishap seems to have happened in the interim, when we employed mostly young college students. However, we now have a good team, with mostly full-time staff (with the infamous Effie leading the pack).

Nevertheless, you should have had good service.

So please let me make it up to you.

Please check your PM within the next few days.

Sorry for the late reply,

Alan

Yay!! Real guacamole!! But will it be with Haas avocados or with Taiwan avocados?

I’ll bet it’s not made in a genuine stone oven.

No, but it should be done in a genuine stone mortar. :cactus:
