Anybody in their right mind who takes public transportation in Washington, D.C., specifically the bus system, ends up with that face, sooner or later.
DC can be a shithole of its own making, and if you have to take WMATA to get around, believe me, sooner or later you’ll be sharing her feelings, with or without dudes in masks everywhere. Maybe she was a regular during covid, and now this. 
Given that most of the country has almost zero public transportation - and no exposure to DC’s version of it - extrapolating that photo to the nation at large is, as the Brits say, ambitious.

So many happy kids and old friends. The concert was terrific, as live brass often is. Citizen fireworks became deafening as dusk approached, but they stopped almost on the dot at 11pm. Like the Somme all day and then, at 11pm, like somebody turned off some switch. One reason property here is so valuable to me.

The fact that he got a fair shot and was elected is also a good sign. Whether or not his hopenchange 2.0 works is another thing entirely, but hey, step up to the plate and take a swing.
Just giving my opinion, America used to be a much better place when I lived and worked there (briefly but it was a completely different vibe then), also from direct feedback of people I know who became Americans and of MANY Americans that have complained to me over the last year at various international meetings I have attended, without any bidding from me.
Still got a chance to turn the ship around anyway.

Nope I just told you many Americans have told me they are pissed off without me saying anything at different meetings over the last year, complete strangers!

I see this as a ship of public opinion and no one I know really cares about that unless they are pushing some agenda of their own or coat tailing— for, usually, some NGO. The rest are mowing their lawns and sending their kids to soccer camp. Hitting the beach and kicking back with family and friends on the weekend.
It’s a very small pool here. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
And it’s not a competition but I think I know more Americans than you do. 
Americans at meetings won’t cut it.
