Could very well be. No one I know is particularly impressed with me dating a foreign girl. High value women are local girls with family money to people I know In Taiwan. A lot of them think of foreigners as poor English teachers who backpack around.
Oh yeahh. My husband and I went to see an apartment and the landlord told us within 10 minutes that we should hurry up and have babies because theyāre going to be really cute.
We did end up renting that place and the landlord turned out to be super nice, but still.

Iāve also never heard this in Taiwan. I have in Italy. Tbh, more people seem impressed my girl is with such a tall statured Asian guy than me dating a white girl.
Itās pretty common actually. Old people especially like to say this stuff. Iām not sure if people realize my actual nationality though. Like, Iām American, but a ton of people assume Iām Russian when I meet them. Maybe they have a thing for Russian women and will be disappointed if I tell them Iām just an ordinary American.
Iāve heard at least two Taiwanese people who married foreigners complain about how their baby didnāt come out as cute as they thought mixed babies were supposed to be. Itās unhealthy to assume that weāre going to be some kind of superior breed. Mixed kids are like anyone else, some are really cute, some are just average, and some get hit with the ugly stick. Itās down to luck. Helps if you have cute parents, of course, but thereās just no guarantee.

I always use this possibility to shut down the āmixed-kids kawaiiā conversation. I tell them the kids will probably end up with my hairy legs and my wifeās short stature.

Yeah, exactly. Also some come out looking way more Asian while others come out looking more like their non-Asian parent. You really canāt know or control it. Sad that people care that much what race their baby looks like.

The FSU bride thing didnāt last very long. I think the idea was that because they were from relatively poor countries, they would make nice, obedient traditional wives. The men found out pretty quickly that wasnāt the case, to say the least.

The new security guard in my apartment block told me just last night that I should have another baby for similar reasons. I guess itās viewed as a compliment.

Not going to lie, the foreign women who live in Taiwan are usually not very attractive. Iāve seen far more attractive foreign women in China or Japan.
Taiwan Emergency Response Services are crippled as thousands of foreign women island-wide attempt suicide en masse, having lost the will to liveā¦

Itās a totally relevant thing in this thread. There are very few attractive foreign women here. 99% of the time if they are attractive, they are college exchange students or models doing a season here.
But the same thing could be said for guys if we are talking about Asian girls wanting to meet foreign men. Taiwan doesnāt seem to attract good looking people.
A few go a long way.
