Average baby weight for mixed race baby

Our son was 4000g. When they had them in that room with the other babies, people would walk by the window, and when they got to my son, they would pause, then point at the card with the weight and voice surprise. They would also point to me and tell each other that I was his dad. I was embarrassed because I wasn’t expecting that at all, but also proud.

Is this a common thing/stereotype? Petite Asian woman giving birth to big chubby mixed race baby?

Based on my anecdotal evidence (mixed friends of my kids), this statement seems to be nonsense.
babies come in all sizes, mostly depending on the parents genetics. The biggest baby i knew was born to a very tall (1.95) western dad and Asian mom, but “average” men have “average” babies.

Not one of the threads I’ve read top to bottom, that post was before I joined. Pretty funny, must be a trip to see what dad was posting online all those years ago

so how big a baby did you end up being?

I was 8.8 pounds at birth. At 9 months old, I was probably 20 something pounds

So you went from 8 pounds to 8 kilos

Our second child was like 9.1 lbs.
He had quite the fat/chubby face.
As time went on, he seemed to have "elongated ’ without gaining weight. He’s quite thin now.
So, it depends.
