But 2 get 1, tall ones, 7/11.
Public service announcement:
This KING and QUEEN beer is from Ukraine
and widely available in Taiwan, in both supermarkets and convenience stores. And not bad at all.
Black (King) is Lager
Red (Queen) is Blanche (wheat beer)
Whatās the difference?
Sorry should have posted the front as well. They are different beers. I added the details to the previous post.
Thank you!
I bought the queen one tonight. Didnāt open it today though.
Public service announcement: OBOLON beer is also from Ukraine ![]()
It is available in most āSimple Martā (ē¾å»ē¤¾, āBeauty Cheapā) shops in Taiwan. If I remember correctly itās 125NT$ for 3x 0.5l cans. Today I didnāt see it in one store I checkedā¦
My tasting notes from a while ago:
Obolon Extra: Black can, 6.8% sweet, strong
Obolon Svitle (pale lager): Green can, 4.5% simple lager
Obolon Premium: Gold can, 5%, boring lager

Iām a bit concerned about drinking one that turns out a Molotov cocktail.
I canāt drink IPAs. I canāt even finish one the bitter tree like taste is just gross to me. Like chewing on freshly mowed grass
Mmm fresh grass ![]()
A great place, I like how they display the beer. More a store than a restaurant though.
I got one before the war because of the price, good value for the price! Will get some now when in the shop, Simple mart has always an odd (but often good and some not so) mix of beers.
I love IPAs. The grassier the better haha. I do hate how hipsters have tried to latch on to IPAs as part of their identity, but I try to ignore that nonsense and just drink what I enjoy drinking.
Fair enough. Plus I love porters and stouts, the darker the better and I know many people canāt stand them
Yeah, not a fan of most stouts personally. Though I like some chocolate stouts.
TIFU
Never order a draft beer within the first few moments of establishment opening.
Watch for others to have a couple drafts before you pick one.
Every time I remember, it doesnāt matter and every time I forget, it does matter.
Never thought Iād pay so much for beer in a plastic container and never thought Iād like it so much.
Still too expensive.
Heineken N.V. will take over the majority ownership and management rights of the Long Chuan Zuan Co. brewery in Neipu, Pingtung County
Taiwan is its second largest export market after the U.S.? Wow. Of course, itās in every convenience store.
Wonder if theyāre gonna revamp the brewery to only their labels.
I donāt mind Long Chuan sometimes. Kind of reminds me of Taiwan Beer, old-style.
Iāve been to that brewery, too.
