Burger King Thread 🍔

which country? like saying I have been to Asia… UK BKs r shite, Italian ones can be quite nice (as also Maccas can be good in Italy and like France/Switzerland given the hefty prices and usage of local meats and cheeses).

I don’t mind BK burgers and the onion rings here, you get what u pay for. U want good burger? gotta pay up for good meat.

Nope. They are decent. Bacon double cheese and chicken royale, 2 menu staples you can’t even get in Taiwan for god knows what reason.

The tater tots?

I actually like those better than the fries. BKs fries are crappy. At least with the tater tots you can squish them into the burger and get a free hash brown. Bonus!

Definitely not good enough to justify your flying to any European country to try it!

I actually had an absolutely fantastic Whopper in Hong Kong at the Peak some years ago, https://maps.app.goo.gl/yWF957dtZbtXVFxV9 , again not worth flying to but if you’re in HongKong I highly recommend trying it out, although recent reviews don’t look that great…

UK BK actually have proper fries, somewhere between a Maccer’s skinny fry and a traditional UK chip, plenty of them too.

Burgers can be hit and miss depending on which location you go to, definitely on the low end of the scale compared to other country’s BK’s I’ve tried. Will opt for the onion rings in the unlikely event I’m in a Taiwan BK in the near future!

The fries are a joke, portion size is pathetic.

Was the tater tots if that’s what they’re called, supposedly spicy. Could only improve the burger I suppose!

Ya, burger King is proper trash. A lot of technically legal, largely misleading, marketing tactics. They also tend to go more for not letting people even wash their hands and prefer less in house dining. Not that they were great back in the day in north America, but they have consistently gone down hill. Nit just in food taste, but ingredients, customer service, hygiene and basic levels of letting the customer not feel like a complete price of shit. They aren’t alone, to be fair. At least McDonald’s pretends you are cool by giving them money… :pensive:

I went into a McDs in reland it was an absolute disgrace, rather eat at a homeless shelter next time haha. Fast food joints in Taiwan are usually clean and modern looking, prices are also very reasonable compared to overseas.
Burgerking varies a lot in Taiwan , there are some outlets I wouldn’t darken the door of again.

Since I was a teen, going into to town the McDonald’s has keys on the bathroom and lights to “make heroin addics go crazy”.

If that’s not a reason to avoid eating their food, I don’t know what is. They do warn us with their crap food, dirtiness, poor quality, poor business practices, detriment to our environment etc etc. I mean, they do a good job of telling us “don’t eat here”. I guess it’s all on us hahaha :upside_down_face:

But ya. Protein infused with fat, sugar, msg and other flavor enhancers at konda not cheap rate seems irresistible

Don’t judge me!

I still wouldn’t eat at the King though.

I think it’s just to make it more difficult to find a vein? Same with bus station bathrooms in the UK.

More of a societal thing than a reflection on the food, which is anyway shit.

Burger King is a wild one. Wife got a cheeseburger the other day:

These American burger joints are making the cheapo taiwanese burgers on plain toast start looking like legitimate competition.

We have had a few quick supplier meetings in BK this year, and everything comes mushy, sad, tiny and expensive. They also make Mos burger seem like fast food :joy:

That looks terrible.

The last (and I will say final) food I bought from The King was also terrible. Why are these people still in business in Taiwan?

With the exception of the bun, that cheeseburger looks better than McD’s angus burger which tasted and looked like a larger version of their humble double cheeseburger. It’s a low bar.

I think low bar is the key point… :+1:

Virtually any brunch spot here has better burgers.

Lazier and cost cutting by the advertisement.

I’m sitting in burger king now as I type, watching everyone eat their stuff

Looks good.

I think I’ll try the “Sausage with Beef Bruger”.
