I’m not sure but pretty sure your US passport says something to the effect that the document is a property of the US govt and must be surrendered when demanded by the feds or something like that.
Note he does not lose US citizenship , just his passport.
I guess legally under international practice if not law, that makes his stay in the phillippines illegal and therefore he is subject to deportation on that charge alone, not to mention that he is wanted as a suspect for murder.
