Carnegie's - the "chat" thread

Yo! Colnel Mustard,

Was talking with Johnathan last night about the wireless…its not difficult, get with man. My southside office is now split between Cain, Tavern, and Bobbundaye. I’d much rather, between appointments, serve up my mail and porn from the patio at Carnegies while being served a cappucino or Hoe Gaarden.

Chou

i 2nd that e-motion…esp. since my good lady lives just round da corner

I’ve decided that if the Good Lord spares me I’m going to drag myself out of bed early next Sunday (before 3) and eat my breakfast lunch and dinner at Carnage. Let’s see how far I get. Come and watch a fat Irishman eat his way through his month’s wages ! Superb ! Can’t wait. Better have mustard though. And not that feckin hideous “French’s” stuff - I never let that shite darken my dinner plate. I know you’re on the case with the Colman’s, Bob, but you used to have Dijon and wholegrain… ha’p’arth of tar and all that

(Are there onion bahjis on the menu ? I’m very partial to an onion bahji every now and again…)

Well again true to the word of Lord Bob of Taipei I found Colman’s on the shelf at Wellcome in Mui Wo. Teeny jars but I’m more than happy to bring some back.

Guess you’ll have to wait lads, eh?

I also stumbled on a new pleasure for my ferry home, Old Speckled Hen beer from the Lantau ferry wharf. My what a treat.

Still, I’d more than happily shed it and my odd steak pie for a Hoey on the balcony watching the scoots meander down An He anytime . . . but Sunday the 11th is a definite!

Stay in touch Chou baby. Good to catch you too and I have an inking I owe you a beer or two, or did I pay them back 10 times over?

HG

Hey, don’t rub it in…

Looking forward to it…

I hear they’re opening a gay bar with table dancing around the corner called “Carnal Grease”. Is there any truth to this rumour?

:astonished:

Alien: We have been looking at a site on Dun Hwa south road for just such a bar. How did you get hold of the name? Damn…a leak. Should be open before end of September.

Oh, and Happy April Fool’s Day. Nice try.

Cheers,

Bob

least it’d have better music…

Ouch.

[quote=“Huang Guang Chen”]Taipei Bob, if you want some Colmans from HK, Ill be back in a couple of weeks.

Perhaps Messr. Hex could remind me?

Coleman’s English Mustard is now available for your delectation.

Bob

We’ve had Sunday brunch sitting on the patio twice, and the food and the atmosphere were great both times.

Only drawback: for my tea refill, I got cups smeared with lip stick both times - certainly wasn’t mine!!!

Can you do something about that, please? I promise we’ll come again

Iris

Lipstick…groan. Fear not, I shall make sure that the tea cups are cleaner. don’t think the glasswasher is very good at removing lipstick. We’ll have the cups checked manually. Sorry about that. Thanks for the feedback.

Bob

That was my lipstick…been trying out new colors recently. Sorry.

I was in last Friday night with some chums & had a great time. Something has been troubling me since though. It was very late , I was somewhat the worse for drink (or parhaps I had eaten too many peanuts earlier). I remember thinking. “I could do with another lager” I turned around & there was a large glass of lager (untouched) sitting on the table. At the time I naturally assumed this was devine intervention & preceeded to drink said lager. I am now racked with guilt that I drunk someone elses beer. (where I come from this is a pretty serious offence)
Hopefully it was someone who ordered a pint & then had to leave suddenly due to a family emergency but also it might have been someone who was too polite to point out that I was drinking thier beer.
So, if I did drink your beer lat Friday…I am sorry. Next time I am in I will buy an extra pint & leave it there as a donation to the beer god.

This is the kind of swift service we aim for…

Cheers,

Bob

Don’t fret too much about it…beer and smokes are community property!

As manager, I hope you are watching for the recycling of those little bottles of water that sell for NT$100 plus, last time I was there I was really disappointed to see the staff filling the bottles from the tap. Maybe it was a sign for me to get a little more drunk so I wouldn’t notice such things.

With the greatest of respect, that’s bullshit. There is absolutely no incentive to do that kind of thing. Staff know they would be fired on the spot for doing something as stupid as that.

Bob

Call it what you want. I was there, I was relatively sober, I was ordering water, I drank it, I saw it. Regardless, I’m sure most of your employees. like mine, are upstanding citizens.

Can I have the details please. When? Please describe the person who did it. I find it hard to believe though. If there is any grain of truth to this, then there will be job openings aplenty here.
