I’m not really into the comparison. If it’s pushed too hard, the point will be lost in hyperbole. But on the other hand, Trump and supporters are pushing hard the lie that Trump was on top of things from the get go, and so a push back into crazy territory is only natural. As far as the progression of the lies from Trump, I don’t see any inaccucy in the article. Except for the whole “hoax” matter. I believe Trump on this.
They’re not asking him to seize private property. They’re asking him to require manufacturers to produce the supplies needed to fight this pandemic. They will be paid to do so. That’s a lot different than eminent domaining your way into owning property for cheap cuz you want to build a casino on it.

Yeah, the more I read Trump’s tweets the more he strikes me as that betraying theater character acting like

The reality is that the only way to get this pandemic under control is to ramp up testing and contact tracing efforts. This hasn’t happened. It needs to. We know that from Korea. Until then, the US is going to be shut down and economic effects will continue to be disastrous.
