The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (16) that there were 1,351 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 1,199 local cases and 152 imported cases (143 cases were positive for flight landing tests); there were no new confirmed case deaths.
The command center said that there were 1,199 new local cases today, including 575 males, 623 females, 1 case under investigation, aged between under 5 years old and over 90 years old, with onset date between March 31, 2022. From April 16 to April 16, 672 cases were asymptomatic infections. The distribution of cases is New Taipei City (434 cases), Taipei City (206 cases), Taoyuan City (159 cases), Keelung City (92 cases), Kaohsiung City (60 cases), Hualien County (55 cases), Taichung City (40 cases) ), Yilan County (39 cases), Tainan City (29 cases), Changhua County (16 cases), Hsinchu County (15 cases), Miaoli County and Pingtung County (12 cases each), Hsinchu City (10 cases), Taiwan Dong County (7 cases), Yunlin County and Nantou County (5 cases each), Chiayi City (2 cases), and Chiayi County (1 case). According to the command center, today’s new cases of immigration from abroad are 66 males and 86 females, aged between 5 and 70 years old, from the Philippines (4 cases), South Korea (3 cases), Indonesia and Thailand (each case). 2 cases), Singapore and the United States (1 case each), and another 139 cases are under investigation. The entry dates are from February 24 to April 15 this year.
According to the statistics of the command center, up to now, there have been 7,646,789 notifications related to the new coronavirus pneumonia in Taiwan (including 7,613,265 excluded), of which 33,205 were confirmed, including 9,600 imported cases, 23,551 local cases, 36 Dunmu Fleet cases, 3 aircraft infections, 1 Unknown cases and 14 cases under investigation; 3 new cases with empty numbers (original local cases 30878, 31392 and 31531, which are duplicate or negative cases after the epidemic investigation, have been changed to empty numbers), and a total of 193 cases have been removed as Empty number. Since 2020, a total of 854 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, of which 840 are local. The counties and cities where the cases reside are 413 in New Taipei City, 322 in Taipei City, 30 in Keelung City, 28 in Taoyuan City, 15 in Changhua County, and 15 in Hsinchu County. 13 cases, 5 cases in Taichung City, 3 cases in Miaoli County, 2 cases each in Yilan County and Hualien County, and 1 case each in Hsinchu City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County and Taitung County; 14 cases were imported from abroad.
