Reminds me of a super easy, ridiculously delicious recipe here in the States: Mississippi Pot Roast. Done in a few hours if you have a pressure cooker.
A few years ago all of these ingredients were available at Costco Taiwan, except the chuck cut (iirc I used flank). Approximately ten minutes of prep needed, maybe less.
Itās maybe the one store (?) in Taiwan that famously has Black Friday sales⦠so obviously this is the thread where youād go to say that āBlack Friday isnāt a thingā.
Not really. There seemed to be a few shoppers that were there early for the big ticket items, for which supply is probably somewhat limited, but no lines or mad rushes.
Iām unexpectedly free this afternoon, and thought I may head to Costco. I donāt know how Black Friday stuff works there, but I checked Google Maps, and ⦠maybe I wonāt go today.
Went to the XinZhuang one last Thursday and Iāve never encountered such human/vehicle traffic before since that store opened. Cars lined up for at least a km waiting to enter the parking lot, no scooter parking spaces left (Of all the times Iāve been there, thereās always scooter parking spots available), almost no trolleys left! and the lines at the cash register & the food court was crazy. Even my 7-year old daughter, who just loves to go there for fun and dont care about crowds, told me āPapa! why are there so many ppl here today??!!ā
Just got back from the Xizhi Costco. It was getting crazy, but I think we snuck in and out before the real carnage began. Iām now eating a calzone which is unexpectedly good.
