A blend with Pastis actually sounds quite appetising!
Sha shi bie didnt drink egg huh. I guess his drink of choice was ę²å£«.
Today at my local Costco they were giving out samples of Kirkland eggnog. I was the only one trying it, didnāt seem popular amongst the locals.
Tastier than I remember, but canāt imagine drinking 1.7 liters of it.
A long while back, perhaps 15-20 years ago, around this time of year the Zhonghe Costco sometimes offered eggnog. But it was just eggnog, no alcohol, in a milk carton. It was pretty good.
Iāve never felt tempted by their āEgg Nog Liqueur.ā
Surely the ānogā in Eggnog implies that it contains alcohol?
Otherwise itās just thin vanilla custard sauce!
Iām gonna have to start saying virgin eggnog.
100% percent. The Costco stuff is pretty vile. Itās certainly not a taiwanese style drink, so for sure wont gain popularity anytime soon. I can imagine it being popular in back in canada given the far superior versijns available literally everywhere (island farms is my commercial go to). But the ingredients are all here and itās easy enough to make. Some of the best egg nog Iāve ever had were made by taiwanese restaraunts, years past. I wonder if any are doing it this year? Been a while!
Personally I prefer egg nog sans ethanol. Properly spiced creamy heaven!
Otherwise itās just thin vanilla custard sauce!
Just?!
You probably donāt like slurping up melted vanilla ice cream, either. ![]()
mmm straight from the carton

I tried the calzone. It was ok. A bit like a subway meatball sandwich. Wouldnāt get it again but it was better and bigger than those meat roll things they sell.
Anyone tried the cookies? They looked epic.

I liked the cookies a lot more than the calzone! Theyāre almost too thick and entering into cake territory. A heck of a lot more substantial than I initially thought. I had one for dessert with a calzone a few weeks ago, and that was too big a meal; brought a cookie home last week, and had half in the afternoon, half later. Due to the size, it worked better for that.
Same visit, I brought home one of the beef rolls, reheated it in the oven, and then ate with several of the different sauces Iāve always got in the fridge. Much, much tastier that way.
