COVID Humbug! (2023 edition)

It is a fact that NHS staff are refusing to participate. Clearly, they don’t think they’re being protected from anything.

I’m trying to figure out how I think you may have misunderstood me here. It’s made more complicated by the quoting which requires me to scroll up. I’ll try my best.

Could you reread the third body paragraph and get back to me about that? It seems pretty clear to me.

I understood, I’m just not sure why you think someone who is clearly lying through their teeth - for reasons unknown - should be taken at their word.

If I inject you with some substance that was never even tested for safety and subsequently proves - surprise! - to be dangerous, and claim that it’s to protect you, you’d want me either arrested or sectioned, surely?

This is the problem with not quoting correctly. I don’t know either.

“…vaccination against flu and COVID-19 is one of the best defences we have to protect our staff and support the resilience of NHS organisations this winter.”

Bullshit. People would be better off if they dropped some pounds and got moving. Both are far better “defences” against C19.

“People with obesity are 46% more at risk of getting Covid-19, according to a study from August. It found that they are also more at risk of getting really sick, facing a 113% higher chance of being hospitalized, a 74% higher risk of needing to be treated in the ICU and – perhaps most troubling of all – a 48% increased risk of death.” Source

I think everyone knows all of this. Fat people in Taiwan, as an example, had two years or so to lose weight and they got fatter. That was without significant lockdowns.

‘Stop being fat!’ should work, but doesn’t.

IMO, not really. If they did, then they’d be promoting pound dropping as the first option rather than the clotshots :running_man: :syringe:

How about, “If you’re fat, and go outside, you will die!” posters? That type of marketing has worked before

I doubt anyone would get away with that, but pretty much true.

A positive alternative would be to give people discounted or free gym/ sporting/ other fitness club memberships.

Or, they could just make fitness mandatory. No travel/ job unless your BMI/ waist to hip ratio/ etc. are within healthy ranges.

I mean, that’s what they did during the pandemic. Just reduce people’s freedoms until they comply. Or, like the CECC, they could give financial incentives if they lose a kilogram of weight, instead of vouchers for the latest clotshot.

It would have to be mandatory. They wouldn’t do it properly otherwise. From elementary school upwards.

They make so many things mandatory. I honestly don’t know why they don’t just mandate good health. It’s almost like they want a population of sick people who are constantly getting new types of diseas…

Oh…I see.

Is gym/PE class not mandatory in schools in the countries you guys come from?

Ouch! Take care of your health, Finsky. :ambulance: :hospital:

bloody-keyboard

I believe in most places, physical exercise is part of school curriculums. I’m specifically referring to adults

Pretty sure kids aren’t the ones who suffered from the covie wovie itself. Moreso, the “emergency pandemic measures” themselves made the little’uns suffer.

It isn’t for fat adults, but I understand how my reply was misleading.

I’m sure this genuinely never occurred to them. Remember the sorry shower of mushroom-white slugs they used to wheel out at CECC press conferences? I reckon they were the weedy kids who got bullied in PE class.

Oh, no, wait, it did occur to them. Gotta shut down those gyms to ensure people don’t get too healthy. Specially those filthy unvaxed.

Anyone interested?

Probably bollocks. Maybe not.

So many contradictions.
