This doesn’t make the trend toward older ages for marriage and parenthood any less true. It’s just what’s happening.
More and more people don’t even want children these days. Most of my female cousins got married after 30. Only half of those who married wanted, and eventually had, kids. So the age they got married hardly even mattered to the ones who didn’t want children to begin with.
There’s some truth to that for sure . Money talks especially around here. Ugly guys from rich families are doing their best to keep the gene pool down over the generations lol
Which I find incredibly strange considering the average Taiwanese has no means or intelligence to prepare for retirement without relying on children. Hell I’ve prepared well for retirement, but I’m also glad I have a big family to rely on if something bad happens. Lots of people are thing to have shitty lives in their old age.
Having kids is not the same as having insurance or a good retirement plan. What if they aren’t financially successful enough to support you? What if they hate your guts and just don’t want to support you?
i guess some of those women who take a lot of care in dolling themselves up don’t care how their kids turn out. theres a bunch of em with kids looking more like daddy…
Then you were a shitty parent obviously, lol. You reap what you sow. It’s definitely better than nothing. I’d only need 20% of my children to be successful luckily.
