Do Taiwanese just think all mixed race (Eurasian) people are attractive?

More cash equals better personal care, better quality cosmetics and more skilled stylist. Whites used to be richer. Therefore their kids looked better. Probably not the only reason but def one of them.

Africans have the most gene diversity.

Because a 75% Asian will usually end up looking just like a regular Asian. But look at Cecilia Cheung, she looks half and half. As shocking as it sounds, her mother is actually half Chinese

And Kristy Yang is also 75% Chinese

Ah-hem
Look up Zendaya and her parents

I meant why do people care what their kids look like? Don’t you care more about what your spouse looks like? Your spouse is the one you have to go to bed with every night.

I agree with you, but from my observations, a lot of people do care what their kids look like, and some even desire that their kids end up with some smarts. For example, from what I’ve heard, there are some sperm bank donors who have donated to a large number of families due to their athletic ability or intelligence.

Getting back to hapas, I’ve noticed that mothers with their mixed kids in Taipei get a ton of very positive attention. Lots of “oh, how cute!” And you have to admit, it’s cool to see a little kid with blondish or light brown hair speaking Mandarin or even Taiwanese fluently. I can see how some Taiwanese would want this.

Ah so I gotta find another Italian girl here in Taiwan and have that kid in Taiwan and growing up speaking Mandarin to one up the mixed kids.

Gonna make that kid the first Italian President of Taiwan. It’d be like Fujimori except without all that crime and corruption and human rights violations.

My son’s mother got a bit tired of that when I was around. When I was not around nobody said a thing. My lad at 5 years old…

He did crack down effectively on Sendero Luminoso.

I’d say rather than a rule…she got lucky lol.

I thought u were Canadian?

This sounds like a TL type of statistic. I think we all agree half Asian somtimes look more white, sometimes more Asian; I’d bet there’s a really strong correlation to the child looking more or less Asian and whether the Asian parent looks more or less Asian. ;D

Hey, what do you know!

Speaking of “hapas” - I know this is getting more common in some areas, but does anyone find it somewhat weird to have non Hawaiians refer to half Asians as hapa? We’d all tend to give a mixed Chinese American that refers to themselves as haafu a slight head twist, right? So why hapa?
