Sex is great. Not having sex is horrible, and probably a symptom of other problems. then you have people who claim to be asexual… just don’t date them.
People get willingly shagged to death by horses. Perhaps they were only after the hugs?
To be fair, most of them unless they’re like badly disabled or burned or something like that could look pretty good if they simply worked out and got in shaped and got a nice haircut and groomed while dressing nicer.

This, money from extortion and associated money connected with prostitution, was the main point of the news story and thread but people get distracted when they see the word prostitute.
For people with no job, it’s a living or helps living. They probably weren’t splitting equally. One or two of the top getting the bulk the other guys getting commissions. Not likely they have potential to have some other quality well paying job.
And it’s revealing into the huge amount of money connected to extortion and/or prostitution.

Dudes don’t stop wanting younger attractive women at middle age. Maybe marriage is dull, or they got divorced, Dating sucks, limited age suitable opportunities and it’s a headache.
You got a beer gut and you’re too old to go to a club, and unless you’re in big city good luck trying to meet a woman at the bar where you’re a regula… and who wants to deal with all that if you just want a few hours of fun or whatever the motivation is.
Affairs too many legal/emotional risks so not a good idea. Not easy to find people you really like as you get older.
An woman listening to them and reaffirming their existence because nobody else can or will, physical enjoyment and anonymity allows them space to express themselves in ways they can’t to their peers, spouses, relatives.
Japan has a good solution for this, talking bars from the Geisha tradition. Women are trained in conversing on all sorts of topics and are actually tested by mama sans.
In some cases, there is probably some real connection there despite the transactional nature of it.

An attractive woman telling a man what he wants to hear while pleasing him sexually is probably going to appeal to some people.

2 consenting adults. Payment for the service. I don’t see any problem with it as long as nobody is forced into it. It’s not really that much different than paying to get a massage. It’s not sad, pathetic or unfortunate.

Some guys seem to be able to believe the connection is real. I’ve never liked the strip club, while some guys love talking and flirting with the girls. I guess some guys can feel it’s real.
‘real’ within the context obviously. Going to hookers to find love in a lasting meaningful sense would be dumb, obviously.

I’m lucky enough to have a gf so I’m not into this, but I’ve been to a few hostess bars, KTV w/ladies on business etc. With some you hit it off personally despite the fact that it’s obviously a transaction. Others blatantly working it, others no chemistry with. Possible to have a human interaction with someone even in that context.
Plus lets be real, dudes can get worked for dough on ‘real’ dates as well if they meet the wrong person…
Of course people can get cheated. There’s nothing new in that observation.
