Got into an argument with a bus driver

Can find that chap in this group

Yeah, it was a very stupid thing to do, no argument there.

I did my best to tell the story as accurately as possible.

Oh that’s good but…

Lol. How is that a thing?

Seeing other foreigners fail makes some foreigners feel superior. It’s like the mean girls in junior high.

So basically, it’s very unlikely he will file, and even if he does I’ve got plenty of leverage to make him drop it.

He might just be like some of the posters here who will write and say stop wasting my time lol.

Fact is you instigated an incident and now want to be known as the victim.
If you really think you were assaulted then you should press charges, If you believe you were publicly insulted then sue. Write to the bus company asking them asking for the video from the bus.

Yes me and @Taiwan_Luthiers , we are an unstoppable force of chaos everywhere we go!

Guy

I never said I thought I was a victim. I’m just trying to prepare myself for the impending trouble.

Im aware it’s pretty much my fault for a number of reasons, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be ready to defend myself.

Nothing to add except posting something like this on a public message board probably wasn’t the best idea since the story is obviously recognizable to anyone who wants to look it up, such as cops, a bus company, or an irate driver. Just saying.

Yeah ill delete it soon.

Not only that but if the video evidence confirms OP is a liar…

Except the part where you lied about doing something that can be a criminal offence in Taiwan and carry fines or jail time… lol

Pray to all the gods you know that the bus driver decides to drop it. This will not end well for you when the police catch you in a lie.

What did I say way upstream?

Ask a moderator if it comes to that.

Btw, I’d have said I flipped off the bus not the driver. “I didn’t even see the driver. I just knew I missed the bus. I was really flipping off my bad luck.”

Here’s a side story about lying to the police in Taiwan. I was involved in a scooter accident. A woman came careering the wrong way out of a one way street clipped the back of my scooter and fell off and hurt herself rather badly. She told police that she hadn’t driven out of the one way street, but had come from a different angle. When I was making my statement at the police station they had already had CCTV footage of the accident showing that this was a lie. When I pointed out that the woman had lied about it in her written and signed statement it was brushed off. “Everyone lies sometimes in the heat of the moment”, is what I was told by the police officer.

In summary OP, I think you’ll probably be fine. Someone equating flipping the bird to a bus with drunk driving and killing a man is absurd. You’ve done the sensible thing and got a lawyer, and you haven’t lied in any signed statements. You can probably just move on with your life.

I can’t watch all this talking about bottles of whiskey I just quit drinking it due to GERD. I I keep seeing comments about whiskey giving it’s giving me thoughts.

One thing I’ve always wondered about this public insult law is where is the line. Can I just ask a question like ‘are you stupid’? I’m not actually saying you are stupid, but I want to know. Or ‘Do you know how to drive?’.

How about - 'Can you go fuck yourself '? I’m not saying you should, but might be helpful if you could.

People have been charged for just using “fuck” as an expletive…not even directed at someone. Not much room for nuance.

I think I heard about that case. Didn’t the guy win because they proved fuck can be used an adjective and doesn’t have to be an insult?

But that was proven in court as not a public insult.
