More likely lying and stalling to buy time for his team to formulate a media-friendly response.
Certainly wouldn’t put it past him.
baffles me it really does. we can all see the backlash to this guy a mile off it he ever gets elected. Taiwanese: save yourselves the grief and take a look into the future.
From the mouths of babies…
Such a worm.
I just laugh whenever I see the TV news now. Story after story about that guy, each less meaningful than the last.
I just hope some of the ivory tower DPP types realize that they need a bigger base of public support to win the next election. Whining online isn’t going to cut it.
y’all missing the point with Han (and I’m no supporter, nor denigrator of him).
any publicity for him is good publicity.
he doesn’t care if high schoolers do that to him, because at LEAST the high schoolers know him and what he stands for. he’s keeping himself relevant (whether positively or negatively) in the eyes of the public.
it’s a win-win for him to run for KMT presidential candidate, as even if he does not become the candidate (which is likely), his power grows inside the party and he will play a big role with deal-making.
this is ALL politics and something any smart politician would do.
So, the green media is actually, whether they know it or not, helping him politically gain power in the KMT with any kind of news, good or bad
Does he have the betel nut stained teeth or am I imagining it?
I wonder if Korean Fish knew about it ?_?
Korea fish recently visited Hk n met with our present lame puppet piglet. Wonder what was discussed between them???
Photos please!
I am getting really pissed off with CTI. I watch the news every morning and I do not think that there has been any day lately where Korean Fish is not there. Today, they were visiting some kind of game archade and challenging him to some contraption… waste of time, waste of resources, just have his face on tv 24/7.
There is talk of recall, but that would only make him a martyr and leave him free to pursue presidential candidacy.
It scares me how many naive people are out there. Same as Master Miaochan (妙禪師父), founder of Rulaizong (如來宗) has his crazy followers.
So I went to the rally today. It was ridiculously hot. There were plenty of people, enough to fill the plaza, but most were hiding in the shade. As a result, I could walk right up to the stage.
I took some photos, back when I got home, the news channel is showing an aerial shot of the plaza from about the same time I was there.

I mean… really?
I thought Hkers were the only ones in Asia who are so obsessed with using an umbrella for the sun and pepper spray and tear gas fired by the Hk riot police.
This morning I had the unfortunate opportunity to hear this man´s speech. A golden nugget of racist and maniplulative crap, together with looking down on SEA countries, criticizing the Southbound policy investments, and hailing that he is the only one who can save the glorious Republic of China, which optherwise is in danger of collapsing. And Republic of China this, ROC that…
Then they asked the crowd who had been at all 5 events recently and most lifted their hands…
Populist discourse indeed, appealing to the fears and prejudices. He knows his crowd.
By the way, there are two major themes that I’ve observed while standing there being baked into a crisp.
The first theme at Han rally is almost religious. A theme song reminiscent of religious music that you would hear at vegetarian restaurants is played, while the giant screen would show close up images of Han speaking to the crowd with a smile. The entire atmosphere created by that song and imagery is very creepy. It is lifted straight out of those cult assemblies…
The second theme is the “we are under attack” theme. It is accompanied by dramatic movie scores, with footage of people forcefully defending Han’s positions, sometimes in a shouting match. It lists things DPP did that they claim infringed on personal liberties, democracy, and the Republic of China, and Han is here to protect these core values and the ROC. It has a very FOX news feel to it.
When no one is speaking, these two major themes are played repeatedly one after another. It is almost surreal to sit through the thematic changes. It’s like you’re watching Little Women and suddenly someone switched the channel to the climax of Transformers 4.
I guess this formula works because it seems like it is being repeated in plenty of election rallies across the world.
I mean, it palys up to hope and fear. One understands a certain portion of Taiwanese, those beaten down by the Martial Law, and those who benefited from joining the ranks of the colonists, have this mentality that they just recoil and do whatever peopel tell them when someone screams. And yes, the populist manipulation of hope and fear and religion are ubiquitous all over the world. That is why we have the resurgence of ultra right movements all over.
One would hope that these people are not the majority on Taiwan but the remaining problem with young people losing hope and not voting, and the older ones rabidly voting being the blind ones hoping for a return of the good old days, is quite scary.
This guy is really ridiculous. While city is flooded he’s drinking. Even couldn’t wake up next day to give statement.
