I liked Webberger (so much so that it seems I’ve been as many times as you, despite not living in Kaohsiung). A bit cramped inside though - it’d be nice if the place was a bit larger, and had some beers rather than only soft drinks. As it is, I see it as more of a lunch/eat-and-then-leave kind of place.
doyou guys know any vegetarian burger spots that make their own patties? I want more the north American style of using rice/bean/wheat/etc more whole ingredients, not the beyond or impossible style. and not the Taiwan style of literally cooked vegetables in a burger. do these exist?
Sizzling Burger嗞嗞漢堡 804高雄市鼓山區青海路422號.
Burger Patty 飽嗝佩蒂 800高雄市新興區德順街2-1號
Has anyone tried these places? I heard there were a few north of Love River, but seems they close as quickly as they pop up.
Agree on Lovss… can be good, but hit and miss. burger patty very dry the 2nd time I went there.
oops! I guess I didn’t read the latest updates…
I was trying to find a place called Burger Expert or Burger Genius that my cousin mentioned. ring any bells?
Just tried this place , was quite nice. Not fancy, but clean, not ultra cheap, but far from pricey. food was light, tasty and good bright atmosphere. perfect lunch spot when it is hot!
Restaraunt names: Notice
if walking out of the new Eda mall next to costco go straight. It is directly after the local market on the corner. Kitty corner to PX mart. Very short walk from Costco/Eda/Aozhidi mrt station. Arkansas diner is nearby.
A note. their menu uses the scientific name for Lions Mane mushroom. most things here are lions mane base, which is good.
We had the bean sauce lions mane (bottom left), the water bamboo (second bottom left) and the fake fish one. all were good, lions mand and water bamboo were the best!
A flat 1/10. very disappointing Like a bad local breakfast shop. Sloppy, soft, crap bun, terrible sauce. The onions were the best part. I went to the Burger King next to them but they said they dont sell the veggie burgers.
I remember thinking the burger was fantastic but they gave such a small serving of fries. I had high hopes since it’s kind of close to me but didn’t think it was worth it - I spent 228 and was still hungry afterwards. I’ll probably go back when I feel like a special treat.
Cheers for that. I too often feel hungry after eating veggie burgers/sandwiches. Meat certainly seems more filling and long lasting. Beans seem to be the go for true fulfillment. When I turned veggie, a larger portion of my income went into food lol. Tonight I had a 12" subway, then hit up the McPlant. Hungry again 2 hours later. Never ending battle
Burger the Goat has been temporarily closed for so long, that I’ve removed it from my map. Sizzling Burger has been added to try thanks to @joeyliao but I still haven’t made it there. Anything else missing?
Reigning champ

Out of curiosity, been to smokey Joe’s recently? Kaohsiung or pingdong shops. Are they still crap, or have they taken any of the huge hate and improved? I like their buildings, but ya…the food… also did the new kenting shop cut out it’s fun side? I only drove by, so not sure. it seems their market street side is done, just the back hotel street now? Or did I see wrong?
Ya, we have the same experience every time. for probably 2 decades. always bad. but the building is cool and people always want to go.
I like donburrito as well, but the atmosphere isnt as fun as smokey joes. over all these years that is their (and their partner restaraunts) main draw it seems. or only draw
For smokey, gotta admit the bright building in kaohsiung draws the eye a bit and makes a person come in at least once. Luckily there are a couple million people in kaohsiung to allow them to survive
I remember liking the atmosphere inside at the older Pingtung shop. more western cowboy vibe rather than the 2nd Pingtung restaraunt neon car thing (which is/was cool too) or whatever the kaohsiung spot is trying to accomplish indoors…boring? But the exterior is certainly an eye catcher.
