Little bit pink on inside, but I’m sure you can tell them how you like it. It’s almost like an open kitchen, so I don’t think it would be an issue.
I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned The Plus Star/星樂加. My favourite burgers in Kaohsiung, and quite cheap too. They have great homemade patties, you can stack them unlimited for 50nt each, other things on the menu are quite good as well, their danbing are unique.
Webberger near central park is banging as well, definitely worth a try.

Still have Legends, Webberger, The Plus Star, and Oxford to try out.
- Murk Bar: Had a great late-night burger there. It could be because I was hungry, or because my expectations were low, but man it was delicious. Best patty I’ve had so far in K-Town.
- new Bottoms Up: That’s a tasty burger. Nice place, was quite busy. Will have to try this and Murk Bar each again to see who comes out on top. The fresh side salad in addition to the fries was definitely nice to see.
- Beast: Blue cheese burger was pretty good; a bit dry but at least it was cooked through for a change. Nice place, I will go back.
- Arkansas Diner: I have burgered there twice, so far a consistently great sandwich. Service is great, atmosphere not my style.
- Lighthouse: Good sandwich, my kinda place, service was good. I got onion-rings for a change and there were a paltry 6 on the plate. Had a second burger on another visit which was closer to mediocre. This has become my favourite place to grab a beer.
- Smokey Joes: The meat tasted off, and they said the slow service was due to cooking fresh fries but the fries were cold. Cool building, though.
- Foster Hewitt’s: First visit was dry and tasteless burger that benefitted from mayo and tobasco. I went back a second time to give them another chance and try the poutine. As a Canadian, I found the poutine offensive (details available on request); the burger was undercooked and not just pink but slimy on the inside (still tasteless); I was overcharged based on the menu prices (30NT so not worth the hassle), and will probably never go back.

Dry meat > uncooked meat.
If by uncooked you mean completely raw low grade ground beef, then yes. If you mean properly cooked instead of overcooked to the point of being dry, then hell no!
I mean the above posts about uncooked burgers that were slimy. Yuck!
I’ve never heard of a burger being “slimy.” I’m not even sure what that means. I only know dry burgers and juicy burgers.
What made it slimy? Even completely raw beef isn’t slimy. Raw snails are slimy.
i guess it was the quality of beef, the pre-freezing preparation, the freezing, the thawing, and the “cooking” that made it slimy…

I found their burger to be decent but (like most in Taiwan) on the overcooked and dry side. I guess our differing experiences speak to the larger issue of burgers/steaks/beef in Taiwan, which is inconsistency.
Of all the ground beef I’ve had all over the world, though, ranging from tartare to burnt, I’ve never had anything slimy like a snail. I think I’d have to spit out the first bite and ask for a different dish if it was truly that bad.

Yeah, you’re the same dude who originally listed McD’s and BK among your top burgers, right? No offense, but I think we’re all gonna be doing our own research before following yours.
And I’ve been to FH many times. I admit the burger isn’t usually my top choice there, though.

the outside was ok, i just didn’t eat the middle. and i won’t ask for another dish because (a) i’m canadian and that is not nice, and (b) people might do interesting things to your food if you disrespect the kitchen like that.

The double beef bacon king is great, and ginormous!
Rotten meat absolutely goes literally slimy due to bacteria. If its that bad though, one would expect to become sick.
