Meanwhile in Brazil... Lula is elected president for the third time

If some Brazilian president wants to do that, that would be cause for the United States to invade and stop.

I don’t know how to interpret this post.

Do it literally.

If some Brazilian president threatens the environment and destroy carbon-absorbing trees to dangerous levels for the whole world to dangerous levels, the United States would have to invade and deter him.

Invade what, the Amazon?

Even if the entire Amazon basin disappeared, there would be no danger.

They would have to because you would tell them to do it or…?

Invade whatever country is destroying the Amazon.

Americans are such warmongers…

Yeah don’t tell that idea to anyone in Washington @OysterOmelet

What would be the danger?

Losing the value of undiscovered medicinals?

There would be no carbon or oxygen dangers.

I’m picturing OO going down there as a mercenary and mowing down loggers. :slightly_smiling_face:

Probably they’ll flatten it with daisy cutters and agent orange.

More assertions of absence. How do you keep this up?

We have to burn down the rainforest to save the rainforest.

Yes, that’s the only way to flush them out.

The laser targeting doesn’t work when the loggers can just hide behind trees.

Really?
This is basic science. The Amazon is basically neutral now.

Yes after being savagely cleared for soy production and the cattle industry.

Maybe, as Lula emphasized in his acceptance speech, it’s time for this destruction to stop.

So if it disappeared today, taking all that carbon with it, it would actually be beneficial.

And who the hell are we to live a life of luxury stemming from environmental destruction when people in the basin are just trying to improve their lives and we demand they stay in poverty?
