The NYT article is utter tripe, from the people desperately trying to encourage “identity” politics…saying that many white Trump supporters “identify” with their colour , which is a reason for the solid support .
If you want to win in the long term , you need to realize that the only thing many of those voters “identify” with , is their own lives and ensuring that they have opportunities to be successful and can put food on the table without worrying about supporting the many poor of the World first.
For those who may have higher morals , then volunteer , donate, all good …but the reality is that riding on a ticket of AOC, Bernie, Kamala or Booker policies will result in a probable loss in the election.
I hope you continue to support the GND, Reparations, Free everything, Open Borders et al, if that is what you believe.
Then , after losing , perhaps the Dems will realize it is time to get realistic .

I never once said I support reparations.
I never said I support the GND. I said the ideas in it like universal health care, affordable college tuition, environmental protection are pretty standard ideas. Just because I’m not emotionally/ knee jerk rejecting it as socialist without even once looking at it doesn’t mean I “support” it. You see the difference right?
I never once said I support or oppose open borders. I’ve never even discussed that topic here.
I’m not a big supporter of any of these dems. I can read pieces from the national review and consider their ideas. I’d rather stand on my own two feet rather than emotionally decide on something out of a need to be part of an in group. This identity politics driven mob mentality isn’t the way to fix anything.

I think that is the definition of support is liking most of the content …you just argued that these ideas are standard , when they are just extreme in the main .
You cover yourself , or try to , by including caveats and changing words like free college tuition …to “affordable”, and using environmental protection , instead of the GND proposals ( many of which you said were just “the packing” that was at issue)
Either own the damn thing …or say it’s sh*t…but you will just evade the fact that you support most of the radical ideas …but ooh the language is too overboard …giving you plausable deniability…common sense …ohhh yes please …words that are contradictory.
