Lol, me too and I think their food is just average. They don’t even have tamales.
I’ll take Teotihuacan next to Da’an Park any day. The speed of their food being served can be hit or miss though. I’ve basically given up on getting authentic Mexican here.
there are crap places but theres also a million japanese chain stores which are the same as in japan. the thing i don’t think is as good here is the izakayas. there are a lot of them but the ones i went to in tokyo seemed way better than here.
I tried Teotihuacan at their old location after receiving a lecture on authenticity and haven’t felt compelled to try the new one.
I like Nomad even if it is Canadian style. Nomad’s food is delicious because of the sauces and fresh ingredients. Every bite is good.
My favorite tacos are at El Sabroso. They are larger than the tacos I ate in Mexico and more like the ones I would eat at the Mexican grocery in Dallas or Houston sans arroz y refritos. The trouble with El Sabroso is that it is really difficult and time consuming to be their customer. Everything is cooked to order and piping hot.
I cook non-Taiwanese food at home most of the time. Hmmm. We should have a taco party.
I guess if you’re adding a service charge, people can expect better. Sometimes places are staffed with young people who look like adults but don’t know to check on things. I might have gotten up and gone into their kitchen to cook it myself. I have been known to serve coffee to random diners in IHOP when the service was non-existent. The restaurant business is really hard work so I better not criticize too much!
