Price of cheese and milk

Anybody know the Price of the following cheeses at Costco? Parmigiano regiono, Pecorino Romano, Cheddar, Grano Padano, Fontana, Edam, Motzarella and also how much is a bottle of milk? Please indicate the grams for cheese and litres for milk.

Are you doing a piece of homework about the prices of stuff in Taiwan or something?

@Taiwan_Luthiers seems to like going to Costco a lot and talking about the prices of food items - maybe you can bribe him to take some photos for you.

Some items might be listed on https://www.daybuy.tw/, but I find that site quite irritating to use so don’t really bother. I don’t think they sell Edam usually (at least I don’t remember seeing it). Not great for cheddar these days either, unless you’re talking about the plasticky American stuff. :grimacing:

Yes I’m doing a piece called : "How much salary to ask for before going to work in Taiwan ".

And you’re going to base this on the prices of meat, milk, and cheeses…?

You are not living in a house made of cheese and bathing in milk? :astonished: /s

But on a serious note. In Asia milk products are more nieche and expensive because Asians are on average more lactose intolerant than Europeans.
Many milk products are hard to find in normal shops.

That’s easy. Ask for US$350,000 a year

Kirkland Signature Whole Milk 1.89 L X 2-Pack is NT$249.

Have you tried this?

That’s 27.45 metric tons of mozzarella at the current exchange rate and price. Let’s try to be more helpful.

Just about to have grilled mozzerella and vegemite on some muffins… good way to start the day. The shredded packs are cheaper than the solid blocks by weight.

Yes and milk from pretty much anywhere else is around NT$90/liter…

Taiwan beer is pretty cheap.

Still NT$28 a can?

Holy crap that’s expensive

Shredded cheese has cellulose on it as an anti-clumping feature. I avoid it for that reason.

And compared to, for example, Canada, the quality isn’t very good. I just don’t drink as much milk as I did back home. Probably some people switch to soy. Taiwan is generally not expensive to live, but part of that is adapting.

Alternatively, papaya milk.

The soya bean is freaky cheap. A big bottle for couple of us dollars. Local plantains can be cheap too.

Doesn’t seem to have prices for cheese. Presumably because of weight variances.

Ah Taiwan, or as many like to refer to it affectionately: The land of milk and cheese
