Oh they could respond better than the first time. The first time they the British got very lucky. If it wasn’t for that one nuclear submarine their troop / ferry would have got sunk. Pretty much one regiment won the Falklands.
Similarly any invasion could also be better.

But yeah, I don’t think he’s “far right” either. Anything to the right of Communism these days gets labelled “far right” - it’s getting completely ridiculous. OTOH he doesn’t strike me as leadership material. Being an ex-banker/financier is a minus in my book, too. Just look at bloody Rishi Sunak to see how that works out.
As for the Trudeau comparison: this is what I was alluding to earlier. When people get saddled with someone like Trudeau who goes completely off into the weeds, it’s a sort of natural human instinct to lurch away from whatever he represents to an extreme degree.

I don’t know. They’ve had almost forty years to do something. Anything to do with the Falklands seems like domestic politics only.
Yes they were good at anti ship operations , their pilots were British and French trained. What they had a problem dealing with was the Harrier in dog fights. The RAF lost almost every Chinook helicopter in just one attack on a modified container ship. The British forces were down to a few days of ammunition. It was in fact a very near defeat which it should have been anyway.
