Someone told me that the China Post reported that a South-African was caught in Changhua growing weed in his garden.
anyone else heard/read this?

I was literally just going to post that I had heard something similar.
My Taiwanese friend just told me that he saw something on TV news about a S.A. getting busted for growing weed in Taichung.
Anyone got any more info?

Now from what my most dependable sources have told me the foreigner is South African(confirmed), he lived in Lugang(confirmed), and he was busted with about 200 plants(unconfirmed).
When asked what school he worked for, he said “Stanford” (confirmed).
A lot of other foreigners got dragged in for questioning and lost their job as a result of poorly informed newspaper article(unconfirmed but from a reliable source).

200 plants? That’s a lot to be growing in a foreign land where drugs are punishable by death. Even back home I’d be nervous with 200 plants. 10 or 20, ok, but this guy was ballsy. And did someone say they were in his garden (ie., outside) rather than hidden inside? Must’ve been stoned to think he could get away with it.

Hmm, one would imagine that once the cops look into you buying all that they will most likely look at your operation for 1 minute, and drive away thinking:
“Danm foreigners, first cannabis, now cabbage”.

I saw this on the TV news on Sunday night. They took the cameras through his apartment - it looked like a pretty extensive setup, but the plants were kinda small and young looking.
Those things don’t even look big enough to clone! I was expecting some kind of forest. What a plum for getting busted with baby weed.
The dumb fucker must have been ratted out. It’s not like he was importing cocaine in text books.
