I actually felt that one that just happened at 1:55 p.m in Hualien. It made my chair sway just enough for me to wonder, “Is that an earthquake?” And it was. Dang, nine of them all in the same place in the last 12 hours.

Yeah, that was pretty long here in Chung Hua. Very dizzy.

I felt it for about 5 seconds in Taichung.
It was pretty strong here in northern Jiayi County, but it only lasted about 5 seconds.
I found out that the magnitude was 5.9 and the epicenter was between Taidong City and Orchid Island. Here is the map:

Yes also felt very strong in KHH - Govt site says it was a 3 in KHH but was the strongest tremor I have ever felt. Scary ! I even got my wallet and passport out just in case !

Housecat you are right - was an aftershock.
Felt the 5.9 one (almost a minute long here in Kaohsiung, though not that strong) but didn’t feel any aftershock and cwb still says nothing about one.

Hi Eros I am also in KHH. Second one was much much milder, might be my imagination but seemed a bit longer than the first hit. I am on 17th floor, not sure if that makes it more or less powerful. But I also just checked CWB and no record of the second one.
Generally the higher up the more you’ll feel it, so if there was one it makes sense that you’d feel it and me on the second floor wouldn’t. Strange though, since cwb is very prompt with their updates. Not sayin’ it didn’t happen, just sayin’.
I am sure it took place (especially as I am yet to start my daily wine routine !) I always check two things when i thing we are having a rumble - a light and my fish tank - both where moving.
Maybe its below the CWB report level ???

Well my building is quite new. But is strange is isn’t on the CWB. Life is already complex enough without starting to imagine earthquakes !!
