Taiwanese food is great!

When was the last time you actually ate food in Taiwan?

It’s good.

That’s subjective, but it’s certainly not “gourmet.”

It can be. There are many expensive shaved ice places these days.

Irrelevant.

I’d say it’s very relevant. The food in Taiwan now is very different from the food in Taiwan 20 years ago. Perhaps even more recent than that.

What’s that gloopy-looking scorched yellow gourmet thing they’ve deposited on top of the gourmet green ball?

Looks like some kind of weird fungus you might find growing on a tree in a tropical forest.

It is obviously relevant. @OysterOmelet doesn’t want to admit that his information is either old or short-term secondhand, compared to mine which is first hand, long term, and recent.

There’s bountiful expert opinion one can read on this.

Marketing expert?

Ah, indeed. Valuable research by the anthropologists who study the exotic Taiwanese food have certainly helped shed light on the mysteries of the Taiwanese people. Indeed. :face_with_monocle:

We’re in it. THIS is the narcissism thread.

Behold our food! It is the best food in the world. Nay, the universe!

Not liking blah food is a symptom of narcissism?

Holding fringe opinions is.

No, this is the consensus thread.

And ironically, half the people in that thread are from a country with a reputation for nasty food.

Taiwanese food sucks is most definitely not a “fringe opinion,” which should be obvious from the popularity of the thread you just linked to. But go ahead, keep your oyster omelet buried in the sand.

It most definitely is a wacky fringe opinion. You can all masturbate together.

You hardly spent any time in Taiwan (if ever recently??), yet comment on foods you never eat or try, so I do think its relevant comment there asking when you tried foods of Taiwan? You did not answer when?

Are you suggesting that we create an umami sauce for one of those gloopy Taiwanese dishes?
