I wonder if the big French hypermarket Au-Chan will buy it to add to their Taiwan markets? I sometimes go to the location of the hypermarket in Kaoshuing-Fengshan to buy their AuChan label items, but no central city locations. If they bought Carrefour they would be much bigger.
Seems to be only one RT-Mart in Kaohsiung, quite a few in the BeiBeiShi so I guess Carrefour might be a good buy if they are more plentiful in the south.
Ah, gotta scroll back even further - seems old news. Sorry, nothing new that I heard, just didnât find it when scrolling back - I only made it to the store music discussion ^^
Charles Kruse is actually quite direct for a CEO. I particularly enjoyed how he tactlessly implied logistics are hopeless in Asia. Certainly hasnât improved much since 2004, how many times do you go to the supermarket here and something disappears for months!
Itâs a good interview, helped by an attentive journalist. I wish the Taipei Times did more of this kind of journalism as they used to do in the 2000s.
