The robot revolution thread

We’re a long way from skynet, no need to lose any sleep over it.

Introducing… AI tax policy makers.

That is COMPLICATED. I advocate the approach. I wish it was more than just academics.

What would the politicians do if the AIs determine that the optimal tax policy is not to tax people?

Then they’ve set the wrong reward function.

I wish the AI would just get to the question of whether it needs humans anymore and begin the extermination already. Preferably before April 15 but after I cash out my AMC calls.

By that argument, all you need to do is set the reward- or cost-minimization function such that it delivers the result you want.

The experiment as described starts from the assumption that taxation is inherently desirable.

um … what makes you think it hasn’t started already?

I reckon an AI that’s smarter than us will use methods that are not immediately apparent.

Yes it does, because it wants to find an equilibrium between production and equity in a dynamic system.

I have a theory about Pornhub.

It’s a tool to make one arm larger than the other?

Not if you are ambidextrous

Or if you actually need to use both hands.

Just sayin’.

The synthesia.io technology used to generate speech and video in that GPT-3 interview is also pretty amazing. It’s probably a commercialized version of those text to Obama speech videos papers from 2017.

I typed some texts in and 3 minutes later I got this video.

I think they missed two question:

  • Why you don’t want to take over the world?
  • Is there anything that you don’t know?

What was said in the end?

Can not be said about Trump.
