Im actually in the process of moving to Taiwan this summer and Im sitting on a job offer for a pretty solid tech consulting gig.
Im from Japan originally but spent most of my time in the US / Brazil.
I decided to chat some of these tw girls on Tinder and OKCupid. Most didnt reply and when they did they were escorts hawking their services or ugly rude girls with an inflated egos worse than what I encountered in the Americas.
So…is it just my bad luck or are they nicer in real life? I might just take the paycut and live in Bangkok or KL.
Hmm but basically living in a place (+ taking a paycut) purely for the dating situation is a bit extreme, surely?

m looking at the forum and talking to some friends who did a short jaunt to Taipei ages ago.
None of them have anything positive or memorable to say about the women / dating. Most say they are boring or rude and narcissitic.They sound like westernized asians without the grace of japanese manners. Im not getting a good vibe.
If my luck doesnt change I have plan b and c to fall back on.
Its a shame because I was interested in eventually setting up a business and perhaps looking at residency.
Yeah, when setting up a business, step 1 should always be about local girls who want to hook up with a newcomer. Makes sense to any P&L forecast. A consultant would recommend elsewhere.

My bad if I came off abrasive. Im just a little sore about my poor online results right now. I do expect to have somewhat of an active social life and that includes girls if I live in a place long term.
Try some Japanese ex-pats when you arrive?

Taiwan dating is quite boring, not as easy, relaxed, or friendly, compared to Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, even Japan.
I met a great girl in Taiwan. We’ve lived all over the world together, been together 9 years, just had our first kid last week. And we met at a club, which isn’t the first place people would think to find LTR material, but there you go.
I also have a lot of Taiwanese female friends through work and social circles who are cool, down to earth, fun to hang out with, and have interesting things to say and interesting ideas about life.
Sure, there are also plenty of vapid, airhead, consumer-bots here. But isn’t that true anywhere?
Wherever you go you’ll find some great people to date, some in-between, some weirdos.
Taiwan is a great place to live for a lot of reasons, I would focus on those if you want to live here, and not worry about the dating too much.
