Tpass - Monthly Transit Pass for Multiple Cities and Counties

I love that. The Beitou <> Daan train is significantly less crowded than the tamsui <> Xiangshan one

I always ask myself: where do all these people come from?! The Xindian train is full Monday to Sunday, rush hour, noon, mid afternoon, evenings. Heck, I’ve gotten on a semi full train at 10 pm!!!

From Xindian? Ankang?

Got this today.

Twinbei Dingchipiao - Disembark

Executive Yuan Commuter’s Tpass

Expires 5th July

So it works now?

Not sure! I still paid $1280. I’d have to give it a spin on the TRA

Or it starts working on July 1?

:idunno:

Thank you for agreeing to try first

I’d rather people stop driving cars, especially when they don’t have any passengers.

Wait. They’re cards? Not put on our Easycard?

Holders of EasyCards can have the monthly fee for the TPASS added to their cards. As of Thursday, the service can be purchased with the EasyCard EasyWallet, while starting on July 1, Samsung Wallet EasyCard can be used to pay for the service.

Wait. Found it.

They are just selling limited pass themed special edition easy cards. Pass can be added to any usual easy card.
Some might buy them so they can easily see where the pass is stored.

Me checking my 399 KPass…looking at this thread.

The Kaoshiung pass sure looks like a sweet deal to me…and it’s the same price for everyone.

So it turns out that if you have a current 1280 pass, you can get it refunded at a prorated price (meaning if you have 15 days left on it, you get 600nt back) instead of their crap refund rate (100nt per day until you have nothing left). You can do this until about late august or so.

I used what’s left to preorder the 1200nt pass.

Anything fun in Taoyuan?

Thai town near the train station. Best Thai karaoke in Taiwan!

I’ve discovered another thing everyone must keep in mind.

You can’t use any easy card with t pass on it to enter a tra station through a regular gate. You have a special thing you tap to enter if you have a tpass. Furthermore if you go to a non t pass station, you have to go get a fare adjustment to exit!

I recall seeing something about that in the news a few days ago.

When TRA said they needed an extra month to update its system to work with the new monthly pass system I figured it would work just like usual, tap and go at any gate. Didn’t expect they would just put in new gates at some stations…

Uncle Chen has already had to shut down his mask company. You don’t want him to lose his ticket gate company, too, do you?
