Wack things in China

I’m telling ya, read this and weep. They ain’t like us. Maybe it is better to simply give them what they want so they can mellow the f out and grow fat and middle classy.

crazy country

I somehow ended up on Baidu’s version of Wikipedia, and it’s pretty bonkers. It of course has none of the neutrality of a Wikipedia article, and sounds like it was written by govt propagandists (because it probably was).

Highlight #1:

Some of the military and political personnel of the Kuomintang group retreated to Taiwan. With the support of the US government at the time, they created a state of isolation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. After a brief reunification between 1945 and 1949, Taiwan and the mainland were again artificially blocked.

The main article about Taiwan also conveniently leaves out anything about the transition to democracy.

Highlight #2:

The meaning of the people’s democratic dictatorship is that the Communist Party of China and the People’s Republic of China always represent the fundamental interests of the vast majority of the people, and can use autocratic methods to deal with hostile forces to maintain the people’s democratic power. The people’s democratic regime led by the Communist Party of China exercises democracy among the people, gradually expands socialist democracy, and develops socialist democratic politics ; it exercises dictatorship over hostile forces and criminals at home and abroad.

The people’s democratic dictatorship is the dictatorship of the masses of the people headed by the working class over the reactionary classes, the reactionaries and the exploiters who resist the socialist revolution. Democracy does not belong to a few, but to the great majority, to workers, peasants and all other working people, and to all people who support socialism and patriotism.

I think you need to go in there and add some stuff about “Xi Jinping Thought,” as it seems to be missing.

Commies keep trying to deface the Taiwan entry but it quickly get reverted of course.

That’s not quite what it says.

Internet users have also accused the illustrations of being “pro-United States,” because they show several children wearing clothes patterned with stars and stripes and in the colors of the American flag.

If you follow the links you can see some of the original complaints, like here:

See for yourself. :slightly_smiling_face:

Another Chinese “man child” who can’t take rejection.

Besides the beating, head stomping and his friends joining in, the most egregious thing is that all the other “men children” observing didn’t stop it.

CCP is scrubbing their Internet of any criticism about this attack and gender violence.

And now the fake window dressing to show that they care and are doing something about it.

The SWAT team with riot shields standing guard around a table of women diners is excessively ridiculous.

No doubt these people are giants in the field of gender equity.

More Orwell than Orwell :relieved:.

What I dislike about Chinese is their criticism of Westerners , their support of dictatorships such as Russia and Myanmar and attacking democracies such as Taiwan and Japan , their blunt nationalism , constant crowing that China is the best, meanwhile many would love nothing more to emigrate to Western countries to give their families security, prosperity and freedom and they will try any sneaky way to move their money out .
