I recommended this place on this thread three years ago:
I chanced upon Thefreen Burger the other day in the basement of Taipei Main (in the concourse between the MRT and the railway station). A very pleasant surprise. Good bread, good meat, good taste overall. Will definitely go back!
On Taps doing great. The Carnage boss ran the old On Tap but there’s no real connection otherwise.
Did not like this, but some people seem to love it so ymmv.
I searched the forum but didn’t see it. Maybe I spelled it wrong or something.
Lol, I met my first gf at Spin. That corner was a lot of fun when Roxy 99 and Brown Sugar were still around.

I absolutely love The Freen. Reasonably priced, burgers always fresh and tasty, and they have refreshing lime sodas instead of boring old Coke.
I have not been to KGB in 10 years but I still find this really difficult to believe.
The Burger King at the airport is where I go when I want to turn my hunger into sadness.

Its decent for sure, better than most. I’ve had it twice. Could be better, their menu has some odd choices. Their name is a outright disaster though.
I had a pleasant surprise today.
We went with the whole family to New Taipei City Christmasland in Banqiao to see the lights show and some other attractions. It was incredibly packed! I had to carry two of my kids in my arms while the wife was holding the third one, otherwise they’d be lost in the crowd.
Originally, the plan was grabbing something to eat there, but there was no way to do it. Then, we decided to see if there was a opened restaurant in our way back to the parking lot, which was a couple of blocks away since all others were full.
The idea was just to get whatever we could find, but then we passed in front of this place:

What was our surprise when the owner came to greet us at the door, arranged the table for us and introduced the menu! All with a smile on his face!
The place was full and he still treated every customer that way. No wonder they were so busy!
And the burger? Delicious!
Paired with a strawberry milkshake it made this guy here very happy!
The burger and bread are made in house and both tasted great! They also had pasta and risotto, which the wife and kids wanted to eat, and it was not bad too!
This place saved the night!
I think a have a new favorite burger shop!

Welp, quite possibly going to Christmas city next week and I know where I am making a stop if I do. Thanks for the heads up. I have been wanting to have a good burger since getting here.
