Very belated common sense.
Doesn’t the article state
這正在研議中,但還未定案 (This is under discussion, but hasn’t been finalized yet)
I’d like to get my hopes up, but…
EDIT: OK, I see this now
這最後階段預計在10月3日公告、10月10日實施 (This final phase is expected to be announced on October 3 and implemented on October 10)
I hope “expected” turns into reality.
Yeah. The way they word things is confusing, but my Taiwanese friend seems to think so.
Not so fast.
證實研議
They are confirming that they are thinking about it. So it’s a sort of “mulling” type headline in Mandarin.
[Edit @Steve4nLanguage beat me to it above.]
I think that’s a face saving manoeuvre.
By the way, didn’t @Gain predict October awhile back? If so, I might need to talk with him about some lottery numbers.
Fixed it.
CDC says it ain’t happening just yet. It might happen but there’s still some mulling to do.
I predicted August lol.
Has this been posted?
Takeaway: the CECC is, as noted above, still mulling it. Following previous statements, early October remains unlikely given that we’re still riding the BA.5 wave. Middle to late October (probably late) still seems to me to be the most likely time we’ll switch to 0+7.

That’s yesterday’s news. Today’s link is an update.
So, you got any hot stock tips?
I think from the basic circumspection in my posts, you could guess I don’t play the markets. So no. ![]()

Cold water splash: maybe not 10/10. No suprise for me as I thought it would be later in the month anyways.

When the second booster gets to 50 percent?
What do you think is the reason why the decision might be later in the month?
Yeah, I thought the (re-revised) goal was 50% vaccinated children under 5 or whatever. Was that accomplished, or has it been dropped?
There is an election coming up in a couple months. The Taiwan CDC will certainly make the calculated move to maximize their benefits from Covid policy change, to win the election. It’s not about health, not about right or wrong. It’s about winning an election.
