No idea. They got most of the 5 to 11 year olds though.
Oh good - at least the kids are protected now. Well, you know, not “protected” necessarily, but vaccinated and scared at least. ![]()
“On Sept. 19 it will announce that starting Sept. 26, the “3 + 7” formula remains in place but “one person per room” can be followed throughout. On Oct. 3, it will announce that starting on Oct. 10 Taiwan will begin the “0 + 7” program in which there is no quarantine, but there will still be seven days of self-health monitoring.”
Was wondering if anyone can confirm this change on 9/26 to being able to do the full 3+4 (not sure where this 3+7 comes from) if you’re in an independent room sharing a place with other people. I’m arriving 9/30, was thinking of making a hotel booking today for doing quarantine, but after seeing this it seems it might not be necessary.
im in the same situation, if “1 per room” quarantine is possible it will solve lits of problems.
According to the text you quoted you should know on Sept. 19.
Visa-free travel and an end to quarantine should’ve been implemented months ago once it was clear we had an uncontrollable omicron spread and certainly once we had tens of thousands cases a day. Are we supposed to seal clap about this? Can’t end it yet, we still need at least three more weeks of scamming people out of thousands of NTD for shoddy quarantine accommodations.
Yeah, suppose so. Guess I’ll just hold off a few days in booking a room, wait and see.
Good summary, lol. ![]()
Presented to you: Exhibit B. Scoot Airlines is planning to restart direct flights to Hokkaido (like Starlux noted above) and to Seoul starting October 30.

China Airlines also announced earlier in the week plans to start direct flights to Cebu and Chiang Mai (but that’s not until December and January).
(Don’t know whether already posted but didn’t see it, too disinterested to check.)
Well 9/19 came and went without any kind of announcement regarding changes to quarantine policies (as far as I know), has anyone else heard anything? Trying to hold off on making hotel reservations for as long as I can, hope we can get some good news soon.
From today’s Taipei Times:
Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) has instructed government agencies to discuss supplementary measures and make preparations for the nation’s borders to be reopened, but no schedule has yet been decided, Wang said.
Su also said that the public and related industries would need time to understand any new policies and prepare for them, Wang said.
“We will certainly announce the new policies as early as possible, so that everyone would have sufficient time to prepare,” he said.
They’ve been pretty clear that we need to get past the BA.5 wave before they will switch 3+4 to 0+7. We may be still climbing in infection numbers, perhaps until the end of the month. A late October switch at the earliest would be my guess.

no anouncement so far… waiting anxiously as well. my quarantine hotel offers full refund up to 2 weeks before check-in, after that there is a 1 night cancellation penalty (not ideal, but better than paying for 4 nights)
When do you fly in? Guessing you’ve already made your room reservations?
First week of October. Already made reservations to secure a place close to home.
In Taiwan if people get sick (fever, cold symptoms), do they tend to do a home test or go to a clinic? Do home positive tests get reported somewhere?
In the US now, some do a Covid home test, some don’t do anything, they just stay home, or even go to work or school sick. Nobody gets tested in a clinic unless they’re really sick (most people stopped being scared of Covid), so the official numbers look very low.
This is such bullshit. It would take seventeen seconds to understand quarantine is over and done with.
Deployment of hotels, taxis, ground staff at TPE, university administrators, arrival protocols for migrant workers—this list took me twenty seconds to come up with. They all on your speed dial?

A simple email blast?
“Hey guys quarantine is off on this date so umm, stop doing it Mmkay”
You mean the Taipei mayoral candidate…
