Am I correct in assuming that from 29.9 onwards you can do self health management in any accomdation as long as you have your own room (or is it own room/own bathroom?) including normal hotels/airbnb?
I don’t want to rent a flat 1 month via AirBNB or rent something long term without visiting it first - so would book 3-4 nights in a normal hotel before moving on to get a flat longterm…
(plan to arrive late November)
From 9/29 you can do the 3 day quarantine plus 4 days of self health management at a place where you have your own bedroom and washroom. Tentatively the gov’t is saying that from 10/13 quarantine will end and will become 7 days of self health management, I’m not 100% sure if you’ll also be required to have your own washroom for that or not.
Yes that’s what I know too. However I wonder what about hotels and airbnb. In 2020 they were fine for self helth management though many hotels refused people on self health management.
Then at some point there was even a rule that it’s not allowed.
So what will happen to that? Will you still need to provide proof of accomodation on arrival? If not I guess at least AirBNB is fine - while hotels may do their own rules?
My experience from July has been you can’t change residence during the 7 days, the hotel requires you to book the whole time. Also when my gf did it they required her to fill out a form ofy she wanted to leave
If during health monitoring we can use public transport, does that mean we won’t need to take a quarantine taxi from the airport but can use hsr instead? (When the 0+7 kicks in)
This is great news.
But, honestly, the reporting is terrible. What is the source for this “news”. No quote from an official. The report reads like hearsay. “Taiwan News”: what is the source? Maybe “a bloke down the pub told me…”?
Ok so if this article is to be believed, we can take any form of transport back from the airport and also the “need your own bathroom” isn’t a necessity (just recommended)
Good, it is “advised” but not compulsory. Thats good enough for me, but I will wait until it is officially announced by the Government/CDC around October 13 or whatever before I take the plunge.
There’s a bunch of other rules which inbound travelers will need to follow, not just those two. Read this CDC link..
Just a few of them:
*Once you get to your ‘one bedroom pp., separate bathroom’ place, you cannot leave at all until you do a covid test and it comes up neg.
*You need to avoid coming into contact with anyone over 65 or under 6, as well as any immunocompromised (probably need to ask anyone you come into contact with, what their age and medical status is, just to be safe).
*Arriving travelers can dine alone or with specific persons (not sure who “specific persons” are. Only people over 6 ft.?) in a separate space (cordoned off? Private booth?) in a restaurant if they need to eat. They should immediately put on a mask when they leave their seat or finish eating. Masks can be temporarily removed when dining and should be put on after finishing dining.
*Arriving travelers cannot visit or stay with a hospitalized individual in a hospital.
