No, it isn’t. We’ve had this debate before. If she were the finance minister nobody would care. The fact that she’s a textbook illustration of someone who’s done everything wrong suggests that she knows absolutely buggerall about health. It takes a fair amount of dedication to junk food, alcohol, smoking and couch-surfing to look that awful at 50. Compare, say, Joseph Ladapo. Whatever you might think of his policies, he at least looks the part.
Incidentally, I predict she’ll acquire the nickname Therese Coffin within the next week or two.
As JP might say: if you want to change the world, first clean up your room. I don’t want an unhealthy health minister for the same reason I don’t want a bankrupt finance minister, or an education minister who failed high school. They’re guaranteed to be incompetent.
If her first policy action is to embark on a public health campaign to address obesity and other diet-related diseases, I’ll buy you a Happy Meal.
The UKs overweight/obesity problem seems to be very different than say the US.
While the US is on average the fattest for developed nations. This is the average. You also have many really in shape people and the US is at the same time health and gym obsessed. The average seems to be inflated by extremely obese people.
You don’t see that many extremely obese in the UK. The problem is that everyone seems to be slightly to moderately overweight. I rarely see anyone in good physical shape. Women seem to suffer from being overweight way more than men as well in the UK.
I’ll be happy if they don’t blow through another 8billion on faulty PPE and then blame that they’re not getting enough money so half a million people are currently waiting to use the NHS while raising our NHS fees.
Idk how Boris pulled that shit off without people understanding how badly they fucked us.
Brexit has happened. We left on December 31st 2021 at midnight.
Reform UK is now what was called The Brexit Party. Reform UK are a right-wing organisation, currently meddling in Welsh and Scottish independence bids.
