I’m loving the beautifullest song thread. I hope we can get a collection of great jazz songs here.
I’ll start with Birdland, which is probably too famous for its own good, but certainly one of the all-time bestestes of all time.
[Edit: I’m building a playlist with the songs from this thread. I don’t know how long it will take me or how far I will get, but it is here: youtube.com/view_play_list?p … 968267E871]
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Charlie Parker - My Old Flame
Charles Mingus - Shortnin’ Bread
For Sephora – Rosenberg Trio
Sweet Georgia Brown – Gary Potter Trio
Minor Swing – Reinhardt Trio (David Reinhardt, Django’s grandson)
You guys are great. I’ll get a beer and listen to all these tonight.
Thelonius Monk and others, “Brilliant Corners”
The Dave Brubeck Quartet, “Blue Rondo a la Turk”
Vince Guaraldi, “Cast Your Fate to the Wind”
Not the best jazz but my latest saves …
Canadian Jazz … I miss these guys
Here’s one good for a laugh …
I’m daddy-o coolin’
This will keep me busy for a long time. I used to have the music to Blue Rondo a la Turk transcribed for classical guitar but someone who will not be mentioned here threw it away. That is not something that is easily forgiven.
I used to have the music to Blue Rondo a la Turk transcribed for classical guitar. . . .
Whoa. That sounds difficult.
Yes. I worked on it for a long time just to get the first part down and then went on to other things with the intention of coming back to it later.
Now I’ve got a couple of books with jazz scales and progressions and stuff. Some day, I’ll work on them.
Miles Davis - Flamenco Sketches
John Coltrane - Blue Train
Charlie Parker - My Old Flame
This is always my old flame for me.
Maybe off tipoc, sorry. topic
