Continuing the discussion from Coronavirus Vaccine in Taiwan - November/December 2021:
28,933 doses were given yesterday, of which 16,919 were second doses, and 6,052 were Booster shots. 16,159,278 are now fully vaccinated which is 69.07% of the Total Population. (and the one shot total is now 79.99%).
76,017 doses were given over the weekend, of which 55,366 were second doses, and 9,738 were Booster shots. 16,173,299 are now fully vaccinated which is 69.13% of the Total Population. (and the one shot total is now 80.00%).
That took a long time to creep up to 80%. I’m guessing that the number will continue to go up until we near 100% of all those eligible (somewhere around 90% of the total population), but maybe I’m underestimating how stubborn people can be.
The eligible numbers (based on 90% of the population being eligible) are currently 89.83% for 1 dose and 76.96% for 2 doses.
Pretty good. But I think we can get higher with the percentage. I also hope that will be the case, especially considering how the older folks make up a big part of those not getting the shots. We all know how bad 10% unvaccinated can get once Omicron is in the community, and this can be really bad if they are mostly old folks.
39,485 doses were given yesterday, of which 26,694 were second doses, and 5,974 were Booster shots. 16,212,439 are now fully vaccinated which is 69.30% of the Total Population.
If my Chinese is still OK: Chen Shih Chung just announced “gifts” worth at least 200 NTD to any adult who gets their first or second Covid dose between 1/5 to 1/31.
Yep - bribery details here.
As posted before, ‘free’, ‘gift’ are magical words. They should give something as a gift from a ‘famous’ place.
I’ve been unable to access 1922.gov.tw since last week. Has the website changed, or is there a different way of scheduling a vaccination? Or am I blocked?
Down for me too. I think you just register with a hospital now
My wife just just got the 200. She didn’t know about it so it made her happy. I feel ripped off though.
Giving increasingly large incentives to take the vaccine could backfire. The oldies will wait longer to see if they can get more.
Give them a free Starbucks coupon. That’ll get all the young and middle aged holdouts at least.
57,875 doses were given yesterday, of which 40,806 were second doses, and 8,658 were Booster shots. 16,260,739 are now fully vaccinated which is 69.51% of the Total Population.
And the eligible numbers (based on 90% of the population being eligible) are currently 90.00% for 1 dose and 77.37% for 2 doses.
It changes to https://www.cdc.gov.tw/
I think you can just make an appointment directly at the vaccination places/clinics/hospitals
Or just the 1955 hotline?
Yes, it looks like that’s the way now. My local hospital appears to have walk in hours but no online appointments. Tri-Service in Neihu has online appointments. Other big hospitals likely do as well. Taipei City also has a centralized vaccination website, but the most recent round of registrations had closed the day before I checked like 1922 had EVERY SINGLE TIME I’VE CHECKED IN THE PAST MONTH. I didn’t mind waiting so that I knew I could get my wife an appointment. They keep changing this.
67,603 doses were given yesterday, of which 46,347 were second doses, and 11,588 were Booster shots. 16,313,529 are now fully vaccinated which is 69.73% of the Total Population.
