If there was a show called "expats" and it took place in Taiwan

maybe it should just be “meta” - following them around as they shoot their vlogs and observe their reactions to the number of likes and comments, then interview the Taiwanese subjects to ask then what they thought about being filmed and the way they were presented by those foreigners

I think I know the exact guy you are talking about

And in the show, at the end of every episode after the credits role, we just cut back to @Marco and he’s still in some telecom store arguing about not needing a guarantor.

It’s like an ongoing joke that that’s all he does

I am living large ever since Taiwan Mobile dropped guarantor and passport mandates.

Is it worth switching from chungwha?

I really like their Home Internet and Phone bundle deal starting at $999 combined.

Then we have a whole episode where @jimbob132 tries to chat up a bank teller “except [his] Chinese pickup lines are bad”. Maybe he can “write some kind of funny pun on a paper and she can write down her phone number if interested, or ‘no’ if not interested, which is discreet and leaves the least room to fail at trying to tell a pickup line”.

The script should be loosely based on this thread:

Can’t post it in the original thread cos it’s closed, but can I just say that this is the most hillarious shit I’ve seen on the flob in a long time. I hope OP did this, and I want to know the pun.

How about a sequel or mini series dealing with a bunch of ABCs arriving with gold cards as ”covid refugees”?

What about a Taiwan prison show. Three Canadians making joss sticks and dreaming about Tim Hortons, Justin, and herb.

I would do pro-bono work writing for such a show.

I can go experience the nightmare when I go back. No need for a prison show when 35 million already live it.

How about a fly-on-the-wall documentary about rival youtubers arguing about overexposure of night market delicacies?

Gosh, am I an innovator or what? This would be 10,000X funnier than a lot of what is out there.

Any more episodes?

Here is a show called “expats” but it takes place in Hong Kong instead of Taiwan

Christ I lived in at least one shared place like that. There as the time one guy said he was leaving brought out his big stash of porno mags and told us to take our pick. Was a fair amount of Japanese teenie maid stuff in there. Not sure they would put that on prime time.
Or my other new roommate at the time who claimed to be ex special forces and most recent assignment was shooting people in jungles but was about 5ft5 or whatever it was. Still from his demeanour I reckon he actually was. It wasn’t like I was going to put it to the test
Apart from the rolling show of characters IN the apartment at least 3 nights of the week a local foreign resident would be roaring drunk wandering down the street at 2am with his girlfriend pleading with him to straighten up and dragging out of him. So you could put a regular a segue to that as well.
Or the time I came home in the middle of the night on Winter , didn’t turn the light on and felt the ground cracking beneath me and jumped about five feet.
