I think they said (or implied) that it is one of the few legal options in Asia and they wanted to be in Asia. They seemed to just be researching for now, so why not research it?
We do like Asian women a lot and Taiwan is one of the very few Asian countrys where porn is legal.

I honestly don’t understand how. OK, I understand money for the actors, but how do the porn producers make back any money? I can get all kinds of porn for free on the Internet. Who is paying?

Good question.
I see almost nothing left to the imagination on the free stuff. Why would anybody pay? Just don’t get it, unless they make money these days on advertising, similar to what google does. I’ve never clicked on a google ad, yet they make tons of money.
Seems like any site that gets enough eyeballs makes a ton of money from the click-thru’s on ads. Can’t believe so many folks do that, but it’s the same model as most TV programming as well… It’s the ads. I don’t know whether it’s the same with porn.

It must be the ads. And then those major sites use that ad revenue to buy content. And the content providers use that money to pay staff, and maybe actors. I guess. I’m no expert, though.
Gmail, facebook, twitter etc are all free. Arguably just as much a benefit and a plague as the pron industry is.

Two guesses: one, it’s about HD. Sure you can find free porn anywhere, but try playing it on your 40" screen and it’ll look pixelated as shit. Two, in countries like Japan, where you find a very similar adoration by fans for pop idols and porn stars, buying dvds is a sign of dedication, how much of a fan you are and how much you care about your idol.

Maybe you are right. Currently we are comparing big cities in countries of the EU where porn is legal and where we have access to lots of prostitutes because obviously they are more inclined to also do porn.
We mainly benchmark the cities according to how many escort girls are listed on the biggest Escort Girls Site in Europe.
These are the results:

Paris 2,300

This is a forum dedicated to taiwan. If someone has a clear and confident answer on which european cities with the most brothels makes for the best porn star prospecting, i would like to know so as not to share a drink with them haha.
