I saw it mentioned in a closed topic. WTH is it/does it mean?
where you are right now
Now Iām even more confused.
Or does āthe flobā mean a temporary situation?
Itās okay. Stay out of IP and Covid-related threads and youāll get back to normal.
Flob = taiwan. Others may know its origins.
Heās right. I barely survived.

āflobā seems to be an old-fashioned (insider) name for forumosa.
Iām not ancient enough to know the roots, but there seemed to have been an URL like āflob.meāā¦ which might have been the source of this term, or it might not.
Actually, the URL is still there. Wow.
Perfect. Now we just need someone to explain the origin story
Here are some examples, beginning in September of 2006:
In what sense? Banking or Internet?
Tāinternet, and more particularly, here, at flob.com.
Can someone please explain the history of the term āflobā as a reference to this here site? Is it from an IRL meeting? or from a thread? if thread, please link. thanks F. Nietzsche
Two words: TomHill.
Thatās one word.
You just donāt understand Dr. McCoy humour culture.
Anything in tie-dye will do nicely. And skulls, too. Yeah.
Ok so we have a tie-dye print with the words āFlob.com. Gratefully taking the c*nts out of Scunthorpe.ā With a nice big Homer Simpson skull on the back. AWE-some.

Sometimes when I am in a bad mood I come onto flob.com and use my words to piss off people I donāt know very well. Itās easier than dealing with the reality of what is really making me angry. Am I wrong to do this? Am I alone in doing this? I apologize to anyone I have pissed off, or will piss off in the future. When I do this, I am actually angry about something else, something real, and not about how you, Mr Stranger, conduct your personal life and yourā¦
Around that time, people were also messing around with an anagram:
If you have to ask, you canāt afford it. But of course the reason is because itās flobby. Plus, sourfoam was taken.
sourfoam.com edicts TomHill is the only good poster. Good threads are only posted in Temporary Forum (If you are not sure if your thread is good, post it in the Open Forum). If you are pedantic (that means, ānitpickyā by the way. What you might have thought it meant is in āDating and Relationshipsā), go to āLearning Chineseā. If you are pedantic and boring, go to āTeaching in Taiwanā. If you are pedantic, boring and pugilistic, go to āInternational Politicsā. If you are pedantic, boring, pugilā¦
Only 70% of Sourfoam users are on Windows machines? That PROVES they are a lot more discerning than your average hamster. Most real life polls have about 90% Windoze users. Cool! dead easy to find a better system. Me, I chose Mac yers ago (like 1984), and am now looking to put some version of Linux on my Mac Intel box. any tips? and back on tpoic: OP, you just have to make the changes in your Internet exploder preferences, you can your own computer choose the fonts to use, even bettter, hā¦
Maybe some enterprising member needs to start printing TShirts with FLOB emblazoned across the front, distributed (for a fee) to the Regulars so we can wear them (or maybe not!!) when we go out.
One question: is half a flob better or worse than half a chub?
